ACID- Acid comes in 2 forms liquid muriatic acid and dry acid sodium bi-sulfate.Acid is used to lower the Alkalinity and P.H. balanced water cuts down on chemical cost
ALGAE- There are 1000's of different types of algae most common are yellow, black, and green.Best way to rid your pool of algae is brush and treat with algaecide. You may also try running your pump longer and cleaning your filter.
ALKALINITY- Alkalinity is the amount of carbonates and bicarbonates in the pool water.Alkalinity can be raised with bi-card and lowered by acid.
ALUMINUM SULFATES- Alum is a flocking agent that binds floating particles and drops them to the bottom to be vacuumed out to waste
BACKWASH- Backwashing is the cleaning of grids or sand by reversing the water flow through the grids.Backwashing should be done when the filter pressure get 8-10 lbs. above start up pressure and D.E. should be added upon completion with all D.E filter backwashes.
BAKING SODA-Also called sodium bicarbonate it is a white powdery substance that is used to raise the alkalinity of the water.
BALANCED WATER-Balanced swimming pool water is when your water reads between these ranges.
Clhorine- 1.0-3.0
P.H.-7.4-7.6
